It makes me think of the book Shadow Libraries, in case you haven't seen it. Also makes me think of the status of "major piracy alternatives" (such as Libgen or Sci-Hub). Does that also count as Minor Tech? How does it play with the phenomenon of schizophrenia you're discussing?

I really like the mention of commoning as this is also a topic I wish to expand upon within my own piece. Perhaps the concept of the porous and the smooth which can be found in Rene Boer’s book Smooth City could also be useful. Granted the book is situated within architecture, but there are many overlaps - kendal
